Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Prov 3:5-6.
Trust: to have faith in, have confidence in, be sure about, expect, believe. There is a lot in that one word. Do we really trust Him? Are we confident and sure that God will show us the way, or correct a particular situation we are in? Do we expect Him to work? Many times we don’t. We think we have everything under control. But this verse clearly says not to rely on your own intelligence or understanding.
Solomon stated it like this in the following verse: Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil. Verse 7. In reference to this, Paul said: For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God… 1 Cor. 3:19.
We are also to trust with all our heart – with everything that is within us and in everything we do. He has told us He will never leave or forsake us, so eventually He will show us the way.
Don’t give up. Pray expecting something to happen and pray until it happens, or until you know and believe in faith that it will happen at some point in the future. That is trust – believing God will do what He said He will do, especially when we don’t see anything happening at the moment. It’s not easy, but it is worth it. God will give you peace even in the midst of the storm. When it comes to pass, you will have much to praise and worship God for.
