My mom and daughter enjoy doing puzzles – one on the computer, the other with pieces she holds in her hand. When there are many pieces with the same pattern or no pattern at all, it can be difficult to find the right piece that fits, and that takes patience.

Our life here on earth is like a large puzzle with many pieces. There are times when it feels like we can’t find the right fit for a job, a relationship, or a place to live. Finding the right spiritual piece can also be difficult: Did I hear God right? What is my ministry, and where is it to be?

We often try to put the pieces of our life together in our own strength, forcing them into the place where we want them but where they do not belong, and all that leads to is frustration. If we let Him, God will place the pieces of our lives in just the right spot at just the right time.

He puts the pieces of our life together in various ways: He pieces together our hearts after loss or devastation when we feel we can never be whole again. Sometimes, He places one piece at a time when we want the entire picture in a hurry, but He knows best.

He knows the total picture when we can’t see it and knows where to put the pieces so that our life will glorify Him – if we let Him.

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise! Jeremiah 17:14

God pick up the pieces. Put me back together again. In Your name, Amen.
