“Be still, and know that I am God…” Psalm 46:10
A man recently decided to practice this verse literally. So, he found a place to be alone and then sat as still as he could.
He was amazed at how much he heard and saw as minutes turned into hours.
Jesus understood the necessity of solitude and stillness, and often withdrew to be alone with the Father.
What about you?
How long has it been since you were quiet and still in the presence of God?
This kind of peace and quiet allows us to hear and see things spiritually that we miss when we are plugged in and speeding through life.
We can even hear the “still, small voice” or “whisper” of God.
So choose time to be alone, to be quiet, and to be still before the Lord.
You will come away with a renewed compassion for others, and an intensified love for Him.
