When you drive through town after dark, you are able to see all the building fronts thanks to unseen floodlights.
According to the words of Jesus, being a “floodlight” is a major part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit testifies about Christ. He convicts and convinces people of their need for the Savior and points them toward Jesus.
He also helps us understand Scripture, comforts us in times of need and sorrow, and gives us spiritual gifts to edify the church, the body of Christ. Much like the floodlights on the front of a building, the Holy Spirit lights up Jesus for all to see.
But instead of building fronts, He wants to light up Jesus in you and me as a testimony for new life in Christ.
So let’s make sure we faithfully reflect the light of Jesus to others.
When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me. John 15:26
