… And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this? Esther 3:14
Most of us are not important people in the world’s eyes: we aren’t wealthy, we aren’t famous, we don’t hold political office. We’re just…normal.
But God has placed you in the corner where you are at this particular time in history. You are part of God’s history, and the most important thing you can do is to tell His story.
You may feel insignificant, of little worth and that you have no real value in the Kingdom of God. You may feel that God can’t use you because you aren’t “special” – you aren’t a missionary to some foreign land. You haven’t been called to a special ministry.
But God doesn’t see you that way.
Esther was just such a person. Although she was beautiful, she was just a normal Jewish girl who was thrown into circumstances beyond her control. Her people had been taken from Jerusalem to Babylon. For that reason, and in a culture where women had no to very few rights, when the king wanted her for a wife, she had no choice.
When the situation became dire and Haman wanted to kill all of the Jewish people, Esther stood for the Lord and saved her people. God used a normal Jewish girl to save an entire nation!
God sees you as a valued, important and much-loved child, and will not leave you alone. He equips us with the emotional, mental and spiritual resources we need to shine His light to others around us.
You may not be called to some foreign land to share His name, but you are called to brighten the corner where you are, to share His love with those around you and to shine your light for Jesus, for you have been placed where you are for such a time as this.
