After the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus made the disciples get into a boat and go ahead of Him to the other side of the lake.
After rowing for several hours, a severe storm had almost overcome them, and they were frightened.
Just then, they realized that Jesus was walking to them on the water and meeting them in the middle of the storm. There is a vitally important principle here.
While there will be storms in life, if you are in the family of God, Jesus will always meet you in the middle of that storm.
Our problem is that when He comes, we don’t always recognize Him.
He may not come in the way we expected, or answer our prayer in the way we anticipated. How many times has Jesus come close to you?
When you know that He is with you in a storm, there is comfort, even though you may not understand at the moment why He allowed the storm in the first place.
And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking upon the sea. Matthew 14:25
